Volunteers Needed for Donate Dinner Fund Raiser

It is time for our annual “Donate Dinner,” New Seasons Markets Fundraiser. Over eight (8) days in November at Mt. Park and Palisades New Seasons markets, we will be handing out a fact-filled, colorful card to shoppers coming into both locations. We are asking them to add a donation to the Lake Oswego Meals on Wheels program, “Donate a Dinner,” when checking out with their holiday purchases.

Last year we raised over $37,000 in donations at the market doors as we were able to see shoppers in person again. We have set a goal for each market of $12,000 for this year’s campaign.

Time slots will be available from Wednesday, November 15, through Wednesday, November 22.  One-and-a-half-hour slots will be available beginning at 9:00 AM with a short break in the early afternoon. The entire listing of times available will be specific for each day and time slot on “SignUp Genius.”  All Board members, past volunteers, drivers, and new volunteers can sign up on SignUp Genius.  An information document on how to sign up is included in this email below.

We are continuing with the shorter shift time of 1 1/2 hours, with two shifts in the morning and three in the afternoon. We aim to have at least one LOMOW Board member on each shift to answer any questions from donors and volunteers. As in the past, our goal is to have an average of three shifts from volunteers, knowing some can only do 1 or 2 days while others have done 3 or 4 days or more. Of course, please feel free to do more than four shifts if you have the time (we have over 160 shifts to fill!).  SignUp Genius allows only one volunteer name per signup slot, BUT if you’d like to add an additional volunteer (as in the case of a teen and parent), you may put that information in the “My Comment” box when signing up.
