It is the time of year when New Seasons Market offers Lake Oswego Meals on Wheels the dual opportunity to raise awareness and accept donations for its meals program.  This year’s exciting news is that we will be volunteering at the Mt. Park New Seasons Market (3 Monroe Pkwy) and the new Palisades Market.  (1377 McVey Ave).

We are dedicated to ensuring that seniors and people with disabilities in our community have access to healthy meals and social interaction. Over a six (6) day period in November (for those who have volunteered in the past, we solicited donations in the month of October), volunteers will be handing out a fact-filled, colorful card to shoppers asking them to add a meal(s) donation when checking out with their holiday purchases.

We need your help on the days listed below. We are continuing with the shorter shift time of 1 1/2 hours, with two shifts in the morning and four in the afternoon. Our goal is to have an average of two shifts from volunteers, knowing some can only do one shift while others in the past have volunteered 3 or 4 days. Of course, please feel free to do more than four shifts if you have the time (we have over 180 to fill!).

We Need Volunteers During the Following Days:

Community support for Meals on Wheels comes in many forms, from all ages, and engages everyone to get involved. Dancers, shoppers, and golfers participate. How about enjoying bingo, beer and brats while ensuring seniors have nutritious meals? Or see a performance and the price of your tickets is dedicated to a hot lunch for a disabled adult?

Each year several organizations and businesses contribute their time and talent to host benefits and activities that help fund Meals on Wheels. We appreciate their support!
