Meals Program Supervisor
Maria joined the ACC staff in January of 2014 after spending 15 years in the private corporate sector. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon with a degree in Sociology. She states “It is a true privilege to work at the ACC and serve the older adults of Lake Oswego”.
Congratulations to Sara Schrader recently promoted to ACC Head Chef. Sara is not new to ACC, she has been the Cook’s Assistant in the commercial kitchen since 2008. For the past three years, Sara has been making the main course at the ACC, so the taste and quality of the food will remain the same. She also decorates cakes professionally and her work won awards at this past year’s Oregon State Fair. Sara is responsible for all the menu planning, makes the entrees sauces, and some of the deserts. She is an Abernathy School graduate. She does have some great ideas about regional cooking and increasing the ACC’s use of products from Luscher Farm. Sara brings great energy and passion to this position.
Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, she started working in the kitchen at LOACC in June of 2014 where she was able to put her love of cooking to work. She also instilled this love to her three kids and her husband of 30 years. This passion started when she worked in a Portland restaurant during her college years where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
